Chief Executive Officer
Greg Wood is the founder and CEO of Illuminet. Before devoting his time fully to Illuminet Greg worked in leadership roles in a number of companies in the UK and overseas including Barclays, Xchanging, National Commercial Bank and Target Group. Greg’s experiences include running data centres in Africa and the Caribbean, leading development teams in India, support teams in the Middle-East and delivery teams across Europe. Greg has a passion for innovation and quality and this became the driving force for forming Illuminet
Chief Operating Officer
Graham Pauley is the Chief Operating Officer of Illuminet, having joined the company as a Director in 2010, during its formative phase. Prior to Illuminet Graham had a long career at Barclays Bank, progressing through IT Operations and quality management before focusing on IT Infrastructure project and programme management. Graham brings huge expertise in programme management to the organisation having led teams supporting the integration of Woolwich and Gerrard Asset Management as part of those company acquisitions, and latterly specialising in Data Centres where he oversaw the expansion of Barclays UK facilities including the construction and fitout of a new data hall at their main operating site. Graham was also central in the delivery of major IT Infrastructure Programmes for Nationwide Building Society including new Internet and Mobile Bank platforms, expansion of their Data Centres, major upgrades to core banking platforms and leading the IT strategy work on the future of the society’s IT systems. Graham now works full time for Illuminet, providing support for the programme and project disciplines and ensuring our company policies, systems and processes are fit for purpose and support growth.
Chief Financial Officer
Dave Smith is one of the original founders of Illuminet and is the CFO and Director of the Recruitment division. He worked as a senior leader in a number of financial companies such as Barclays Bank and has also led large divisions in Thomson-Reuters and Northgate Arinso. Dave’s experiences include running data centres in the UK, Europe, Singapore and North America as well running IT Asset Management departments in several companies. Dave has a strong business focus and a real emphasis on value for both Illuminet and its Clients.
Chief Commercial Officer
John Opsblum is one of the original founders of illuminet and is the CCO, leading the Consulting Division. He worked led global transformational programmes and services in organisations across multiple sectors, including Barclays Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, Dell, NTT Data, DuPont, Thames Valley Police & Hampshire Constabulary. John’s expertise is in designing and delivering IT Target Operating Models, IT services (internal and managed services), out-sourcing transition, mergers / separations, transformation and programme management. John has extensive experience of building relationships with clients and suppliers and in identifying, hiring and developing talented people. With unlimited drive and energy he is tireless at delivering the right outcome for illuminet’s clients.
Mario Del Grosso
Client Delivery Executive
Mario Del Grosso is our Client Delivery Executive, having joined Illuminet in mid 2017 with an objective of supporting the CEO in transforming and bringing significant growth to our business. Prior to joining Illuminet, Mario was a freelance IT consultant for more than 20 years, working at senior levels (Programme Director, Head of IT Function, etc…) for multiple FTSE 100 global organisations across Financial Services, Retail, and Travel & Leisure market sectors. Mario is recognised as a renowned and respected leader in the Programme & Change delivery area, as well as being a skilled IT strategist and Service Management/Service Delivery guru. Mario’s passion for delivery of successful outcomes is apparent in much of what we do at Illuminet, as well as ensuring success for Illuminet’s clients.
Debora joined Illuminet Business Solutions in February 2019 as HR Director. Her main expertise has been in advising clients on Organisation Design and Change Management.
As a seasoned HR professional, Debora has, over a 15 year period, held various senior HR roles within professional services, consulting and more recently within the Private banking arm of a large Retail Bank. Since 2008 Debora has been advising clients within the Retail and Private Banking sectors on organisation design and has led Change Management programmes where impacted employee groups have ranged from 90 employees to 5,000 employees (UK and Internationally).
Debora has managed internal and external teams; both contractors and consultants (Cap Gemini and Atos Consulting) to deliver activities for HR, Organisation Design, Change Management and Communications. Successes include:- Strategic recruitment for Cyber Security Operating model – hiring of 120 employees. Management of hiring process 100 Cyber professionals as part of onshoring a business. Following business acquisition Integrating people, HR Systems & Policies (inc Workday) of newly acquired business. Following a merger of two large Retail Banks, successfully led HR and communications team to implement a new operating model impacting 5,000 employees which was delivered over 6 phases.

At Illuminet Business Solutions we have developed a People Change Toolkit to support any business with Organisation Design and People Transformation which will ensure any programme is delivered effectively with minimal impact to your business.
Bayer – Augment the team – Project Management
We provided expert project management resource and support to Bayer Pharmaceuticals in the UK enabling their roll out of the new CRM tooling and helping embed improved project methods and disciplines. The project was a success, on budget and on time.
