What this role requires
Remote with travel to client site / Head Office in Poole Dorset. As an Illuminet Project Management Consultant, you will be client-facing.
Working closely with clients, Project Managers, Illuminet’s Sales, Client Delivery Directors and associates, you will provide support and expertise in both pre-sales and delivery. As such, the Project Manager supports Illuminet’s ability to achieve or exceed growth targets in revenue and profitability.
This is a key role within the Consulting Team, leading the planning process, engaging with the client, specialist partners and suppliers to identify requirements, shape proposals and outcomes, inspire clients, develop budgets and organise the project from initial planning and set-up, through to successful delivery.
When not on a client contract you will be working within the Illuminet team to help innovate and move our internal products and processes forward to stay ahead of the market.
Individual Requirements:
- Proven Project Manager, with the ability to be pragmatic and get the job done.
- Good Influencing and excellent Stakeholder Management skills, working at various levels.
- A strong communicator, comfortable using various delivery methods, verbally, written, in person and via conferencing.
- Organised with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and keep within scope, whilst remaining flexible.
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness able to spot and promote opportunities.
- Willing to work hands-on to deliver outcomes as required.
- Self-motivated with a tenacity and commitment to see things through to successful completion.
- Able to work independently and/or lead a team as required.
- A problem solver.

- Able to identify talented individuals with potential.
- Home-based but traveling to client offices or Illuminet locations when required.
Skills & Competencies
- Minimum of 4 years of Project Management experience, including budgeting, analysis, risk and team management. Preferably in computer science, business process or technical fields.
- Experienced in both Agile & Waterfall methodologies
- Ability to lead a project, selecting and engaging teams across functions in a matrix environment.
- Effective stakeholder management skills.
- Policy and process design and management.
- Problem solver and decision-maker.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Solid analytical skills.
- Must have some experience in 2 or more of the following Technology Deployments, Upgrades, Applications and App Development, Infrastructure, Transformation and change.
- Should be skilled and preferably qualified in methodologies such as ITIL, Scrum, Agile and Waterfall.
- Technically proficient in MS products including PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.
- Knowledge of 2 or more of SAP, RPA, workday, ServiceNow, Salesforce, PowerBI, and Dynamics 365 is desirable.
- Sector knowledge in the following areas an advantage; Utilities, Retail/Supply chain, Insurance/Financial services, Information Technology, Technology.
- Working knowledge of Project management tools Like JIRA, and confluence. Other equivalent tools like Asana, Monday.com, Trello and Azure DevOps is beneficial
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective relationships with the client and all stakeholders.
- Manage the delivery, whether by Suppliers, Associates and/or the Client to deliver the desired outcomes.
- Engage, lead and motivate the project team.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ability to implement and follow a strong project governance structure.
- Development of project initiation documentation (PID) or equivalent.
- Create and maintain Project plan and comprehensive project documentation.
- Track and report progress.
- Effectively manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Manage risk, ensuring that they are flagged for corrective action in good time.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Adherence to Illuminet Behaviors.
Governance and Compliance
- Contribution to the development of the company’s policies, processes, procedures, products and services being delivered by Illuminet.
- Contribution to the creation of client-facing collateral for marketing or delivery purposes.
- Identify talented, skilled practitioners that can join the Illuminet Business Network. Helping to develop the Illuminet Business Network value to Associates/Suppliers and to Illuminet.
- Produce regular project reports for Illuminet and the client.
